| Boros Mihály Ösztöndíj 2010. | fiatal aneszteziológusok és intenzív terápiás szakemberek számára
A Magyar Aneszteziológiai és Intenzív Terápiás Társaság (MAITT) és Az Anaesthesia Biztonságáért Alapítvány meghirdeti a “Boros Mihály Ösztöndíj”-at.
A nyertes pályázó 2010. július 1. és 2011. június 30. között havonta 100 000 Ft ösztöndíjban részesül.
A beadott pályázat tükrözze a jelölt magas szintű elméleti és gyakorlati tudását a kisérletes anesztézia és intenzív terápia területén, melyet kutatási eredményeinek lehetőség szerint magyar és/vagy nemzetközi kongresszusi előadás(ok)ban és/vagy szakirodalomban megjelent közleményeivel is alá tudja támasztani.
Pályázati feltételek pályázathoz:
• A beadás határidejéig be nem töltött 35 éves életkor.
• Érvényes MAITT tagság.
• Regisztrált rezidensi, szakorvosjelölti, szakorvosi munkaviszony Magyarországon aneszteziológia és intenzív terápia szakterületen.
• Pályázati előadás a MAITT XXXVIII. Kongresszusán (2010. május 13-15, Eger)
• Érvényes pályázati anyag.

| | OSI & PPSG announce new PAIN POLICY FELLOWSHIP | NEW PAIN POLICY FELLOWSHIP ANNOUNCED
The International Palliative Care Initiative of the Open Society Institute and the Pain & Policy Studies Group of the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center is pleased to announce the International Pain Policy Fellowship Program. The overall goal of the fellowship program is to improve the availability of opioid analgesics for pain management in developing countries for patients with pain from cancer, HIV/AIDS, or other chronic diseases.
The two-year fellowship program will include training, mentoring, and an in-country pain policy project. A salary stipend covering up to 20% of each fellow’s professional salary will be given. Applications will be accepted from mid-career physicians, health care administrators, policymakers, or lawyers from a health care facility, policy center, or university from low-income economies or lower-middle-income economies (as classified by the World Bank's GNI per capita method--see World Bank GNI Data Country Classification on the web). Applicants must have a sincere interest in improving access to opioid analgesics for pain management through drug policy advocacy.
Fellows are required to participate in a five-day learner-centered training program at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin from 23 October to 27 October, 2006. The training program will cover the relationships between disease, pain, palliative care, and inadequate opioid availability, and will use WHO Guidelines to examine regulatory barriers and resources for evaluating national policy, as well as examples of their use. Each fellow will be responsible for outlining their drug availability project plan and timeline during the training program in Madison, and then incorporating it into their in-country pain policy project.

The Chronic Pain Service at our institution offers a comprehensive range of pain management services, both interventional and non-interventional. It is supported by the Department of Clinical Psychology, with a pain management programme. Over the last 5 years the centre has completed 10 multi-centre trials nad has a further 18 in progress. Industry sponsored research funds the post enabling our own in-house research to be carried out. We also have a number of studies in postoperative pain, which may be of interest.
We have a close liaison with the Institute for Medical Research under the directorship of Professor Colin Green, whose specialist interests are in Immunology and Microcirculation.
The Institute also has affiliations with Imperial College, with an international reputation.
It is envisaged that suitable individuals will have completed their training in anaesthesiology and who have decided to make pain management their specialist interest. It is hoped that there is ample opportunity for practical experience and research opportunity to lead to a post graduate qualification, such as PhD. Clearly the length of attachment depends on th aspiration of the individual, but anything from a minimum of 1 year up to a 3 year attachment for a PhD is appropriate.
Educational Requirements: As above, and trainees must meet the appropriate licensure with the GMC and any other applicable Visa requirements for working in the UK.
